How the Laya Calculator is funded
From 1 August 2026, the Laya Calculator runs on voluntary donations.
The calculator remains free to use. Nothing about how it works has changed. Your calculations, saved records and shareable links continue to work exactly as before.
Running the service costs money for hosting, the domain, and the work to maintain and support it. Donations cover those costs and keep the tool available to the public attorneys, legal aid groups, case managers and families who use it.
Donating is voluntary. You never need to donate to use the calculator.
We would like to acknowledge the Humanitarian Legal Assistance Foundation (HLAF) for their trailblazing work in time allowance calculation systems. We especially thank the Department of Justice and Department of Interior and Local Government, the Bureau of Corrections and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, the Public Attorney's Office and the Board of Pardons and Parole for their input on the design and functionality of the Laya Calculator.
We acknowledge John Paul Alcala, Chief Architect, and Dart Tiglao, Internet Strategist, for developing and designing the online Laya Calculator application.
